What are the dates and times of the Bessemer 4th of July event?

Bessemer Blast 2026 kicks off on June 26th and culminates with Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks on July 4th at 10 pm. See events and/or the brochure for full list of event times and locations.

Where is the event located?

The majority of the events are centered in the downtown area, but for a full list of event times and location, see the events page and/or the brochure.

Is there an admission fee?

There is no admission fee to attend Bessemer Blast, although some events charge an admission to participate in.  Such as: 3on3 basketball tournament, hometown run etc..

Where can I park?

You can park anywhere there is a parking area. We do not have any designated parking areas, and there are no shuttle services available.

Is there public transportation available?

There is no public transportation. There is a taxi service out of Ironwood.  Ride-shares are typically not available.

What activities are available during the event?

There are many great community events for your family. For a full list of activity times and locations go here: events.

Are there any special performances?

We love live music and have multiple opportunities for you to enjoy as well.  Check out our schedule for more info.

Will food and drinks be available?

There are numerous opportunities throughout the week for dining.  We encourage you to join us at these businesses and the many others in town.  Additional vendors will be in town on July 4th.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

We encourage you to support all of our local business who help to make this event possible!

Is there a lost and found?

There is no designated lost and found area.

Are pets allowed?

We love our pets just as you do yours, but most pets don’t handle the stresses of this week very well.  While we don’t encourage you to bring your pets, they are allowed and must be on leash at all times.  Please be sure to clean up after your pets. The Cit of Bessemer has multiple doggie-waste stations in town for you to use.  You will be held fully responsible to any damage or harm your pets may cause.  We reserve the right to remove any individuals and their pets from our event space at our discretion.

Is the event accessible for people with disabilities?

Most events are held outside or in accessible buildings. There is limited handicapped parking available.  Please reach out to us with any specific questions or needs so we can determine best ways to accommodate if needed.

Are there restrooms available?

Port a potties will be placed throughout the downtown area and Massie Field. We ask that you use these and not the various businesses.

What time are the fireworks?

Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks are slated to begin at 10 pm sharp, weather dependent.  See you at Massie Field for the best views!

Where is the best place to watch the fireworks?

The best spot to see Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks is in Massie Field. Bring your blankets and find a spot in the field and enjoy a pre-fireworks concert by Marty’s Goldenaires, performing from the bandshell. There are also some bleacher spots to sit on. Many people also enjoy viewing from their own yards or various other spots in town with good views of the Bluff Valley Park bluffs.
