What are the dates and times of the Bessemer 4th of July event?

The events kick off on June 26th and culminate with the Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks on July 4th at 10 pm. See events and/or the brochure for full list of event times and locations

Where is the event located?

The majority of the events are centered in the downtown area, but for a full list of event times and location, see the events page and/or the brochure.

Is there an admission fee?

There is no admission fee to attend the event, although some events charge an admission fee-like the basketball tournament, hometown run etc..

Where can I park?

You can park anywhere there is a parking area. We do not have any designated parking areas, and there are no shuttle services available

Is there public transportation available?

There is no public transportation.

What activities are available during the event?

As far as activities, there are many great community events for your family. For a full list of activity times and locations go here: events.

Are there any special performances?

There will be live music, stunt dudes, video tents-most will be centered in the downtown area.

Will food and drinks be available?

Food and drink will be available, as well as there will be food events at the local VFW, the Sharon Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and the St Sebastion School.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

We encourage you to support all of our local business who help to make this event possible

Is there a lost and found?

There is no designated lost and found area.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed, but must be on leash and you must clean up after your pets. You will be held fully responsible to any damage or harm your pets may cause.

Is the event accessible for people with disabilities?

Most events are held outside. There is limited handicapped parking available.

Are there restrooms available?

Port a potties will be placed throughout the downtown area. We ask that you use these and not the various businesses.

What time are the fireworks?

The Fireworks are slated to begin at 10 pm sharp-all dependent on the weather

Where is the best place to watch the fireworks?

The best spot to see the Fireworks are in Massie Field. Bring your blankets and find on spot in the field. There are also some bleacher spots to sit on. Many people have watched them from their own back yards.
